Delhi Daredevils won the 20th match of the IPL 2010 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 17 runs. With this win Delhi ended their losing track and snapped Bangalore’s winning track. Kedar Jadhav was declared the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 50.
David Warner gave a blistering start to the Delhi innings. It was then continued by Kedar Jadhav. It was Delhi’s first win after three losses and also marked Bangalore’s first loss at home. When Warner was departed in the forth over Delhi had made 44 runs. Sehwag continued his bad form in the IPL. Thereafter, AB Devilliers and Karthik tried to work the ball away to singles in the early stage of their innings and gained momentum afterwards. But both these batsman fell victims to some good fielding effort by Bangalore. Many of the Bangalore bowlers don’t know Jadhv and how he plays the ball. So they had no clue to where to ball to him. And Jadhav used this to his full effect and gave a good finish to the game. It was he who really gave Delhi a chance to stay in the hunt. It was a complete entertaining match started by Warner and ended by Kedar Jadhav. In the end Delhi scored 183 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs.
Umesh Yadav and Dirk Nannes started well for Delhi and kept Manish Pandey and Jacques Kallis quiet for a while. It was a surprising decision by Karthik to bring on Amit Mishra on the 8th over of the match and it turned out to be successful one. He got the in form batsmen, Kallis’s, wicket. After this wicket every single Bangalore batsmen followed him to the pavilion. Bangalore was never in the chase and lost wickets at regular intervals. McDonald and Nannes bowled really well for the Delhi Daredevils. In the end Bangalore scored 166 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the 20 overs.Kohli scored an unbeaten 38 which was not enough to guide Bangalore to victory. They lost their home match by 17 runs. This is the first time they lost a match at home in IPL 2010. With this win Delhi reached the fifth spot and Bangalore fell down to the second spot in the IPL 2010 points table.
