Kolkata Knight Riders have won the 4th match of the IPL season 3 when they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets and with 4 balls to spare. The match was held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Now Kolkata Knight Riders leads the point table with two wins under their belt from the two played.
After winning the toss Saurav Ganguly decided to field first. Kolkata got a good start as their bowlers responded well to their captain’s call. Bangalore lost their first wicket when they reached 15 run mark. Angelo Mathews, star of the first match, was the pick of the bowlers by taking 4 wickets. RCB lost wickets at crucial stage of the match. RCB managed to post a total of 135 runs with the help of fifty from Jack Kallis.
Kolkata Knight Riders was on top their game when they entered the field to bat. Brad Hodge and Manoj Tiwary disturbed each and every bowlers in the RCB lineup. Both of these openers managed to score fifty important runs and added 100 runs for the first wicket. Thereafter it was easy for Kolkata to wrap up the match. At the end they reached the target in19.2 overs with a boundary from Owais Shah’s bat.
