IPL 2010 Mumbai Indians vs. Chennai Super Kings (Match 21) result.
After winning the toss Mumbai Indians put Chennai to bat first. Hayden started very well by hitting four consecutive boundaries in the very first over bowled by Zaheer Khan. But these two openers fell within the powerplay overs. After these two wickets Raina and Badrinath joined at the crease and built a record partnership for the third wicket and both remained unbeaten. Suresh Raina and Badrinath stayed at the crease till the 20th over. Raina hit boundaries at regular intervals and scored runs at a blistering rate. On the other hand Badrinath played a supporting role. In the end Raina shifted the momentum and helped Chennai to reach 180. Raina scored 83 runs while Badrinath scored 55 runs and these two put 142 runs for the second wicket. In the end of the twenty overs Chennai scored 180 runs with the loss of two wickets.
Dhawan looked in good touch as he hit the balls very early in the innings and the target seemed to be achievable. He reached his fifty in just 31 deliveries and put on a solid opening partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar continued his form and scored another fifty in this IPL. Chennai got wickets of Saurabh Tiwary and Rajagopal Sathish in quick succession. But they were not able to continue this. Tendulkar and Pollard from there on scored runs at quick rate and helped Mumbai to achieve the target. Sachin scored 72 while Dhawan scored 56 for Mumbai. In the end Mumbai attained the target with the loss of five wickets and with six balls to spare. With this win Mumbai reached the top of the points table in the IPL 2010.
