Gautam Gambhir again proved that he is an attacking captain. All his decisions went right for the Delhi Daredevils. Gambhir’s decision to field first after winning the toss paved way for an easy 6 wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals. Some exceptional batting by Viru and some poor fielding by Rajasthan Royals helped Delhi Daredevils to win the match.
Rajasthan Royals didn’t have a start they really wanted. It was some good bowling by Dirk Nannes dominated the half stage of the play. There were some good moments in the field for Delhi Daredevils. Delhi Daredevils had played really well to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 57 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in the half stage of the first innings. With some fine performance by youngster Jhunjhunwala Rajasthan Royals ended their first innings with 141 runs on the board with the loss of 6 wickets.
When Daredevils entered the field to bat, they just needed 142 runs. It seemed quite easy for them when Virendar Sehwag batted brilliantly. He played his natural strokes and scored runs all around the park. When he got out at 75 from 37 balls, Delhi Daredevils was in an easy position to reach their target. Dinesh Karthik and Mithun Manhas guided them to victory with 2.5 overs remaining.
