IPL 2010 Deccan Chargers vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore (Match 40) result
Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t have the start they really wanted. Wickets fell at regular intervals for them but Kallis was standing tall at the crease. He lost partners till Kohli appeared in the crease. Dravid tried to build a partnership with Kallis but got out cheaply. Utthappa and Taylor went out cheaply in quick succession. In the 11th over Bangalore slumped down to 68 for 4. But Kohli and Kallis rescued their team by some big hitting at the end. The game changed after the second strategic timeout. With the help of Kohli and Kallis Bangalore hit 92 runs in their last six overs. Two consecutive sixes at the end by Cameron White mad sure that their team reached 180 in 20 overs.
Deccan started well for the chase. Adam Gilchrist once again scored a blistering thirty but failed again to convert it to a high score. Rohit Sharma too fell quickly. At the time Deccan needed 90 off 50 balls. Suman was promoted to the third spot and it proved worth for Deccan Chargers. On the loss of Rohit Sharma’s wicket Symonds joined at the crease with Suman. These too slightly started to build a partnership. These two started hitting boundaries at regular intervals and brought down their target to 28 off 18 deliveries from 49 off 24 balls. They made sure that Deccan didn’t lost wickets after this situation. Symonds finished the game by hitting a six and a four in the first two deliveries of the last over. Symonds scored 53 off just 24 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and three sixes. At the same time Suman scored 78 off 57 and hit 6 boundaries and 3 sixes. After this win Deccan have 10 points from their ten matches and their hope of getting into the last four still remains. Royal too have ten points.
